Hawkins Ryan celebrates 100 years of legal services in King’s Lynn

January 9, 2019 |

The firm was started in 1919 by Alan C Hawkins, the younger son of Charles Hawkins, the surveyor and land agent whose firm occupied Bank Chambers on the south side of Tuesday Market Place, until just a few years ago.

Alan Hawkins qualified as a Solicitor in 1905 and practiced initially in Colchester and then Hull before coming to King’s Lynn in 1919, after the end of the first world war. He opened his practice in the High Street before moving to Hill House, 19 Tuesday Market Place in 1924.

A hundred years on, Hawkins Ryan Solicitors still practice from those same offices at 19 Tuesday Market Place.
